Terms of service
Last updated: October 15, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Inspireways (“we” or “us”), which runs Makeitpaper. They cover your use of https://makeitpaper.com (“the site”) and everything you buy from it.
By using the site or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Our privacy policy, refund policy and delivery policy are part of these terms.
1. Words we use
- “Design” means a digital papercraft template sold on the site, and every file in its download.
- “Order” means a purchase of one or more designs through our checkout.
- “Purchases link” means a link we email you that opens the page with your downloads.
- “You” means the person using the site or placing an order, and the business they buy for, if any.
2. Who can buy
You must be at least 18 years old and able to make a legal contract to place an order. Children are welcome to make the models, with an adult placing the order.
If you buy for a company or other organisation, you confirm that you are allowed to agree to these terms for it.
3. What we sell
Makeitpaper sells digital files only. Each design is a ZIP file you download. It holds printable PDF patterns and illustrated instructions, and for most designs also SVG and DXF files for cutting machines. You print, cut, fold and glue the model yourself.
We do not sell or post any physical item. We never ask for a postal address and never charge for shipping. See our delivery policy.
Each product page says what is in the download, which cutting machines it works with, the finished size and the paper you need. We describe and photograph every design as accurately as we can. Your finished model will depend on your paper, printer and tools, so it may look a little different from our photos.
4. Placing an order
Adding a design to your cart or starting checkout does not create a contract. The contract starts when the payment company confirms your payment and we record your order.
We may refuse or cancel an order if we believe it is fraudulent, if a price was wrong, if we cannot supply the design, or if selling it would break the law. If we cancel an order you have paid for, we refund it in full.
You must give a correct email address at checkout. See section 7.
5. Prices, currency and taxes
- We show prices in US Dollar (USD) or Indian Rupee (INR). We set a separate price for each currency. Prices are not converted at an exchange rate, so they may not match each other exactly at today’s rate.
- You pay in the currency shown at checkout. The amount on the Pay button is the amount you are charged.
- We may change prices, run sales, and add or remove designs at any time. A change never affects an order you have already paid for.
- Prices include any tax we must charge. Your bank or card company may add its own fees, for example for paying in a foreign currency. We do not control those fees and cannot refund them.
- If a design is shown at a clearly wrong price because of a mistake, we may cancel the order and refund you in full, even after you have paid.
6. Payment
Payments are taken by trusted payment providers, on their own secure page or payment window. Which payment methods you see depends on your currency.
You type your card, UPI or bank details into the payment company’s form, under its own terms and privacy policy. We never receive or store those details. The payment company only tells us whether the payment worked, its transaction number and the type of payment (for example “Visa ending 4242”).
You confirm that you are allowed to use the payment method you choose.
7. Getting your files
Delivery is instant. As soon as your payment is confirmed:
- you land on your purchases page, with a Download button for each design; and
- we email a receipt to the address you gave at checkout.
Your email address is how we know which purchases are yours, because there are no accounts. Please check it before you pay. If you make a typo, contact us and we will help, but we cannot send anything to an address we never received.
To come back later, enter your email on the purchases page and we email you a link. Each link works for 24 hours. Opening a link switches off any older ones. Sign out on the purchases page switches off all of them. A download link is made only when you click Download, after we check that your email owns the design, and it stops working after about 90 seconds.
Keep your purchases links private. Anyone with a working link can open your downloads. Do not post or forward them. If you think someone else has one, sign out on your purchases page, and tell us.
8. Lifetime access and free updates
You can download your designs again whenever you like, at no extra cost, for as long as the site exists. If we improve or fix a design, the new file replaces the old one on your purchases page. You do not need to buy it again.
We do not promise that any design will be updated, or that the site will run forever. If we ever plan to close the site, we will try to tell you early enough to download everything you own. We recommend keeping your own copy of your files.
9. What you can do with a design
When you buy a design, you buy a licence to use it. Once you have paid, we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, permanent licence, valid worldwide, to use the design for personal and commercial purposes.
You may:
- make the model as many times as you like, for yourself or as gifts;
- change the design for your own use, for example its colours or size;
- make finished models from it and sell those finished models;
- use the design in work you do for paying clients; and
- show photos and videos of your finished models, including to promote your own business.
One purchase covers one person, or one organisation using it internally.
10. What you cannot do with a design
The licence lets you use the files. It does not let you pass them on. You may not:
- sell, share, give away, lend or transfer the files themselves, whether changed or unchanged, paid or free, printed or digital;
- upload the files anywhere other people could get them, such as a shared drive, a forum, a file-sharing site or a template marketplace;
- sell the files, or a slightly changed version of them, as your own template or pattern;
- use the files to train or build an artificial intelligence model;
- say that you made the original design, or register any rights in it;
- remove any copyright notice or licence text from the files;
- use a design for anything illegal or harmful; or
- share your purchases links, or give anyone who has not paid another way to get the files.
If you need more rights than this, for example to include a design in a product of your own, email support@makeitpaper.com and we can talk about a separate licence.
11. Who owns what
We, or the people we license from, own all rights in the designs and in the site, including its words, photos, look and code. These terms do not transfer ownership of anything to you. You only get the licence in section 9.
You own the photos you take and anything new you create.
12. Reviews you write
If you write a review, you confirm that it is honest, that it is about a design you bought, and that you have the right to share any photos in it. You allow us to show your review, its photos and the short form of your name (for example “Priya S.”) on the site, for free, for as long as the review is published.
We read every review before it goes on the site. We decide based on what a review says, never on its star rating. We may refuse or remove a review that is spam, abusive, off-topic, or that shares someone’s personal details. You can change your review on your purchases page, or email us to remove it.
13. Refunds
Our designs are digital files delivered instantly, so all sales are final. If something is wrong with a file or your access, we fix it for free. Our refund policy explains this in full and is part of these terms.
14. Using the site fairly
You agree not to:
- try to reach files, pages or data that are not yours;
- get around a link expiry, a limit on requests or our protection against automated attacks;
- copy the site or download its files in bulk with automated tools;
- scan or attack the site, or try to make it unavailable;
- upload or spread harmful code; or
- pretend to be someone else, or use someone else’s payment method or email address without permission.
If you find a security problem, please tell us privately at support@makeitpaper.com before telling anyone else. We are grateful for every report.
15. Ending your access
We may stop your access to the site and to your purchases if you seriously break these terms (especially sections 10 and 14), or if we have good reason to suspect fraud or a payment that was not allowed.
If we do this because you broke these terms, your licence ends, you must delete every copy of the files, and you are not owed a refund. Sections 10, 11, 16, 17, 18 and 23 still apply after that.
16. No guarantees
We provide the site and the designs “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we give no promises beyond those in these terms, including any implied promise that a design suits a particular purpose.
We do not promise that a design will work with every printer, cutting machine, app or app version, or that the site will never be unavailable or have errors. Each product page lists which files are included and which machines they are for. Please check this before you buy. If you are not sure, email us first. We would much rather answer a question than sell you something that does not suit you.
17. Limits on our responsibility
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profit, lost business, lost data or damage to your reputation, that come from using the site or a design.
As far as the law allows, the most we will ever owe you for a design is the amount you paid us for it.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for fraud, or anything else the law does not allow us to limit. If you are a consumer, you keep every right your local law gives you that cannot be taken away by a contract.
18. If you break these terms
If someone makes a claim against us because you broke these terms, broke the limits in section 10, or used a design illegally, you agree to cover our resulting losses and reasonable legal costs.
19. Other companies
The site links to and uses other companies, such as the payment companies and our email service. We are not responsible for their content, availability, terms or privacy practices. Your payment is also covered by the payment company’s own terms.
20. Things outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events we cannot reasonably control. These include outages at our service providers, internet failures, cyber attacks, natural disasters, epidemics, war, strikes and government actions.
21. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version on this page, with its “Last updated” date, is the current one. Changes apply to orders placed after we publish them, never to orders you have already paid for.
22. Other legal points
- If one part does not hold. If a court finds part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- Waiting is not giving up. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Transfer. You cannot transfer your rights under these terms to someone else. We may transfer ours to a new owner of the business, as long as you keep access to your purchases.
- The whole agreement. These terms, together with the privacy, refund and delivery policies linked above, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site and the designs.
- No partnership. These terms do not make us partners, agents or employees of each other.
23. Which law applies
These terms, and any dispute about them or about a design, are governed by the laws of India. The courts of India decide any dispute. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the consumer laws where you live.
Before taking any legal step, please email us at support@makeitpaper.com. We will do our best to solve the problem with you directly, and almost every problem can be solved that way.
